Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. As a child she was enrolled in at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. When she was six years old, Emma was aware she was going to become an actress and for several years, she studied at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied singing dancing and acting. When she was ten, she had performed and taken the lead in various Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the movie version to J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was filmed for the first time in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford drama teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after 8 auditions, that she had been chosen for these characters. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first appearance in a film was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It was the highest-grossing film of 2001 it set new records for its opening day revenue as well as the opening weekend's earnings. Critics have praised both the film as well as the performance by three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance. Emma later won five awards for her performance in the film.
